Our Denomination
The Assemblies of God is a Protestant, Trinitarian, Evangelical, Pentecostal fellowship of Christian believers with more than 12,000 congregations, and almost 3 million constituents in all 50 U.S. states, and an international presence in more than 100 countries of the world.
It was founded in 1914, and maintains an aggressive missionary outreach throughout the world with an emphasis upon understanding the Bible, worshiping God, making disciples for Christ, building strong local congregations, and reaching out in evangelism to others through the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and calling others to faith in Him.
Our Local Congregation
Founded in 1971 through aggressive evangelism efforts, Pastor Jim and Yolie Ortiz reached out to young people and needy individuals and families with the Gospel of Jesus. A congregation was formed and we soon named ourselves “My Friend’s House,” because we discovered in Christ Jesus “a friend that sticks closer than a brother” (Prov. 18:24).
